Summer 2019 is an exciting time at EP. For ten weeks, we are moving to two services—an earlier service and a later service—with a Sunday school hour in the middle. We are looking forward to multigenerational worship and our middle hour being a common place of connection, learning, and growth. So invite your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Sunday School Classes

Gospel of Mark: Frank Rouland

The Gospel of Mark is the shortest but fastest-moving of the synoptic gospels, emphasizing facts and miracles and depicting Jesus as a man of action and authority. Join us as we explore this amazing account of Jesus’s life and ministry.

Christ in the Old Testament: Jay Mitchell

From Genesis to Malachi, the Old Testament is Christocentric and gospel-saturated. Each week we will look at a different depiction of Christ in the Old Testament so that we might delight in God’s Word and deepen in our apprehension and appreciation of his astonishing love for his people.

Encounters with Jesus: David Driftmier, Dave Stadler, and Josh Mast

What is my purpose in life? What is a good life? Why is there so much wrong with our world? What can I do to help make it right? As we work through Encounters with Jesus by Tim Keller, we will find that any lasting change in our lives will start with a change to one or more of our answers to these questions. We will focus on meetings Jesus had with others and show how the central events in his life provide ways for us to encounter him again or for the first time.

The 9 Arts of Spiritual Conversations: Don Mullis and team

Jesus demonstrated a great model for sharing the Good News, making new disciples, and helping spiritual conversations flow naturally. The 9 Arts of Spiritual Conversations curriculum has rich content, insightful questions, and hands-on practice that will help you improve the quality and quantity of your interactions with people who believe differently.

In His Image: a Sunday School Class for Women: Frankie Frank, Cheryl Mullis and team

Sometimes we ask, what is God’s will for my life, when we should really be asking, who should I be? The Bible has an answer: be like the very image of God. By exploring ten characteristics of who God is, this book helps us understand who God intends for us to be. Through Christ, we will discover how God’s attributes impact how we live as we follow his will and are conformed to his image.

Philippians: Jim Ferguson

We will look through this very personal letter to one of the churches that Paul loved and in which he took great joy. Joy—because of their growing faith and transformation, their partnership in the gospel with Paul, their support of the work of the gospel, and their friendship.

The Peacemaker: A biblical guide to resolving personal conflict: Doug Mules and Peter Hershey

We will be working through a DVD study of Ken Sande’s book by this title. Each class will be a 25-30-minute video followed by guided class discussion on Biblical principles for resolving conflicts in our lives.

Topical Potpourri: Ace Sarich

We will begin by discussing the sermon followed by a look at various topics relating to our walk with Christ: the persecuted church, right to life, Jesus’s return, creation, current events, and our changing culture. The format will include video from Christian teachers, leaders, apologists, and ministries.

The Gospel Centered Family: Andrew & Tammy Graham and Rob & Natalie Niewoehner

Our focus in this class is to help whole families grow into God-knowing, Christ-confessing, grace-receiving, servant-hearted, mission-minded believers—adults and children together. We’ll talk about major Bible principles for family life, challenging us to give up our “respectable middle-class idols” and become the distinctive people that God calls us to be.

Small Group Leader Training: Cheryl Mullis and team

If you currently lead a Small Group or would like to lead one someday, join us this summer as we explore ways to help you and those in your group flourish. This course is an excellent introduction for new leaders and will re-invigorate those who are already leading a group.

Christianity 101: Pastor Bruce O’Neil

We will look at the foundational truths of Christianity in light of our contemporary culture. These truths have been summarized in one of the Church’s oldest statements, the Apostles’ Creed. The format for this class will include both teaching and Q&A.

The Living Word Amidst the Prophets’ Images: Through Scripture and Music: Jack Mastrangelo

We believe the Lord Jesus, the Living Word, can be discovered through the Old Testament prophets. We also believe that music can help convey their messages. Join us as we explore the beauty of the prophets’ message for us today.
