Two Opportunities for Women to Study God’s Word Together

The summer is a great time of year to dive into Scripture with a group of women. The first is with Pam Polk, who will facilitate a discussion about Susan Tyner’s video series, “What’s SHE Doing Here: The Messy Women in Jesus’s Genealogy.” This group will meet in Pam’s home and on Zoom on various nights throughout the summer. The second opportunity is with Cheryl Mullis, who on Sundays from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. is reading Jen Wilkin’s book Ten Words to Live By: Delighting in and Doing What God Commands. If you are interested in learning more about how to join one of these groups, please email Cheryl Mullis.

Blood Drive

On Monday, June 28, we will again be hosting an AAMC Blood Drive to assist in supporting our larger community. If you are between the ages of 17 and 74, a minimum of 110 pounds, and in good health, you are eligible to donate blood. Available time slots will be between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Please plan to arrive in the Portico area five to ten minutes prior to your time to sign in. Plan for the whole process to take less than one hour. Masks must be worn if unvaccinated. Please sign up for a time using this online form. For questions or more information, please contact Nanci Hulting, 410-507-0660 or [email protected].

Victory Jam for Middle Schoolers

We are inviting our middle schoolers to sign up to attend Victory Jam June 24-28. Located at Harvey Cedars Bible Conference in New Jersey, this five-day camp is full of exciting activities, church group times, worship, gospel-centered teaching, team competitions, and of course, plenty of time at the beach!

Sowing Hope Summer Camp

Sowing Hope is an outgrowth of our ESL ministry and a way for our church to share the love of Jesus with elementary kids impacted by a tough school year. Teens and adults are invited to help with this twice-weekly tutoring program in English Language skills, reading, math—and fun! Camp runs June 29 to July 29 and sign-up is now open for tutors and helpers. For details contact Theresa Doolan.

Created for a Purpose

Created for a Purpose is a week-long creative arts program that teaches 3rd-8th grade girls that they are a unique masterpiece created by God. Each day is packed with hands-on activities and Biblical teaching emphasizing that God has made everyone with different talents and skills to be used for His glory and His purposes. Cooking, painting, sewing, and sculpture are just a few of the creative arts we will be doing July 12-16. Your girls will walk away with tangible reminders of the God who has made them, loves them, has saved them, and desires a relationship with them! Space is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot today.

The High School Ministry continues to meet at 7 p.m. outside at the fire pit on the back field, after which we go into the Sanctuary for Bible Study in the book of Acts. Contact John Cavallaro.

Renew Groups

Joining a Renew Group is one of the best ways to engage in the life of our church. In a group, you will be encouraged to learn more about Jesus and live out your faith. Renew pairs our sermon series with our small group study guides. Each week, our pastors preach through Acts and Renew Groups discuss the passages when they meet. Registration is open, and you can join a group anytime.
