Woodside Gardens Summer Camp – June 15 to August 19, Tuesdays from 10a to 12pm. This summer we are planning to take several groups over to Woodside Gardens once a week for six weeks. If you have an activity you would like to share with these children  such as a simple craft, sport activity, book reading, story telling, singing, board games, etc WE NEED YOUR HELP. If you would like to be part of the Traveling Tuesday Team please contact Laurie Nelson.

Send A Kid to Camp - We are excited to tell you that the Lord provided the funds to send 25 children to Camp Wabanna from Woodside Gardens, Iglesia de Dios, and Angel Tree. Please continue to pray for these children as they attend camp the week of June 29th.

Lighthouse Shelter – Located on West Street here in Annapolis. We are looking for families, Sunday school classes or Bible Studies willing to prepare dinner for 15-25 people living at the shelter.  EP is committed to serving the 4th Saturday of every month.  Because of space limitations we recommend you only go with 4-6 people (but certainly more can help prepare the meal). It is a wonderful outreach opportunity to serve and share Christ’s love. Dates available are 7/26, 10/25, 11/22, 12/27.

Homework Haven – In continuing our ministry to Woodside Gardens (a housing community off of Forest Drive) we are looking for more volunteers interested in helping children (ages 6 to 10) with basic reading skills.  Homework Haven is held Monday through Friday from 3pm to 6pm at Woodside Gardens Community Center.  This is a great opportunity to help these precious children with homework needs and share Christ’s love.  Wednesdays and Thursdays are the days that volunteers are needed most right now.

Gabriel Network – Maternity Transitional Home provides a homelike atmosphere for young expectant mothers. They are presently looking for female volunteers to be “Angel Friends” to these young women.  If you have a desire to minister through relationship building, providing occasional transportation needs, or simply just to lend a listening ear to a young woman in a challenging situation please contact Laurie Nelson.

Mops@Woodside Gardens – We continue to be challenged and encouraged by the work God is doing at Woodside Gardens. There are presently about 6 to 10 moms that attend with about 15 women from EP that rotate through childcare and mentoring position. Presently we have been meeting every Thursday morning from 10 to 12pm. We do a traditional Mops meeting (relevant speaker, discussion and craft) twice a month and on the off weeks we have begun a bible study.

Severna Park Pregnancy Center – This pregnancy center has intersected several times with other ministries and the Lord has used this center in mighty ways to impact these young moms. Presently several of us are taking the 10 week, 30 hour Volunteer Training Course that was offered by the clinic. They are presently also looking for men to train to counsel the birth fathers.  Personally, I can not say enough about how valuable this training has been even if one never Volunteers at the center. This is an area where there is so much opportunity and so much need in this day that we are living in. For more information on how to get involved call 410-431-5000.

Angel Tree Ministry – This wonderful ministry  involves “ purchasing, wrapping and delivering gifts to prisoners’ children on their behalf which not only delivers a message of love from parent to child, but also the true meaning of Christmas – the good news of Jesus Christ.” For more information contact Dee Chalfant 410-674-5621.

Operation Christmas Child – EP will continue to be a relay center for Operation Christmas Child this fall. We will be looking for volunteers to help receive shoeboxes the week of November 16 – 23. Many volunteer positions are available thoughout the year to serve the Lord through Operation Christmas Child. Find out how to use your gifts by promoting the project locally, raising prayer support or managing the shoe box collection. To find out how you can be involved please contact Laurie Nelson.
